Juliette and I were eating dinner with Carly’s brother Jason, and we asked how Carly was, and he said she was quitting her job and going to pursue her music. We were like, umm, what? We’ve known Carly for so long and had always known she played the piano and harp, but didn’t know she wrote songs. So we immediately called her and insisted she send us what she’s working on. She sent some iPhone demos, and we couldn’t believe what we heard. We did a week of demos, forced Carly to go to Maximiliano a lot, and then recorded the full length at our friend Woody Jackson’s studio in Hollywood, UltraVox. It was all IPAs for this one.
